Why not visit Valley Lane Wildflower Meadow

The wildflower meadow was sown in the Autumn of 2015 with a mixture of native grasses and wildflowers seeds. It was sown on land given to the Parish Council by Mid Suffolk District Council on the completion of the Middlefield Drive housing complex. A further 500 wildflower plugs were planted in 2019 and this planting project will continue in the future.

The establishment of the wildflower meadow provides a diverse range of both flowering plants and native grasses, not only does this unique ecosystem add an attraction to the village, but more importantly provides a nectar rich food source for beneficial pollinating insects like Bees, Hoverflies and Butterflies.

Its estimated that Bees pollinate a third of the food that we eat in the UK.
