Please complete the short survey that will arrive in your newsletter or can be found here STREET LIGHT SURVEY so that we know what you want us to do.

TIMETABLE OF MEETINGS 2022/2023
Local planning applications are received from Mid Suffolk District Council from time to time. These are examined in detail and the parish council's comments, including a recommendation to accept, reject or amend, are referred back to the District Council as planning authority. The parish council nominates a trustee of the Great Finborough Village Hall charity which runs the Pettiward Hall. It is a member of the Suffolk Association of Local Councils (SALC) and of Community Action Suffolk.
The council is responsible for five village greens within the parish, registered under the Commons Registration Act 1965. With one exception ('The Green'), these are small grassed areas too fragmented to be of great recreational value. The Green itself is a triangular area at the northern end of the village surrounding a mature chestnut tree. The Parish Council is also responsible for an area to the South East of the village where there is a 5-a-side football pitch, a youth shelter, car park, allotments, wildlife area and woods with a circular walk; also a toddlers play area and car park - location IP14 3AH - which are located in the centre of the village. The council meets the cost of street lighting along the main road, pays for litter collection and the purchase and siting of bins, supervises the provision and maintenance of footpaths within the parish, oversees the private and local authority management of the treescape and the rural environment generally and finances and distributes to every household a monthly newsletter.
Great Finborough is now included in the Mid Suffolk West area, therefore for policing arrangements please refer to www.onesuffolk.co.uk/safersuffolk/MidSuffolkWest for more information.
